DR. MARTENS - FLASH TOUR

The Brief:

Dr. Martens wanted a tactical and disruptive piece of content to recapture interest in their #standforsomething brand campaign.

The Film:

We took the idea of a pop up gig to another level and created the first ever Flash Tour – an amazing feat that saw Glasgow crunch-pop duo Honeyblood attempt to play gigs in 6 iconic locations, in one day across London on World Music Day. After arriving late, and bundling the band into a van, we played across key locations, ducking and diving street officials before completing a roof top finale in Peckham. Die hard fans joined us along the way and the Tour was seeded via film back into the music industry.

Production:

This project involved me managing the budget, working with a talent manager to secure a band fit for the brand and arranging all the logistics to travel a band, the backline and a film crew around iconic locations around London. I created an extremely tight timeline, with a number of contingency plans, by visiting a number of locations/venues and rehearsing the load in, set-up and de-rig with a skeleton crew.

The Results:

The Flash Tour reached over 14 million music fans on channels including Stereoboard, The Line of Best Fit, Clash and Kerrang.
