SONY PLAYSTATION 20TH ANNIVERSARY

The Brief:

The brief from Playstation was to create a 20th birthday event for the PS1, a celebration that 2000 members of staff would remember for another 20 years.

The Event:

We transformed Tobacco Dock for a one night only live event that transported guests, via a time machine disguised as a dysfunctional lift, back in time through iconic moments in popular culture. From the Nineties to the Noughties and from The Now to the Near Future, guests celebrated in 13 individually themed spaces with Playstation history at the heart of each one.

A constant stream of entertainment hosted by 25 actors meant the guests were exposed to an evening of everything Playstation past and present while being served food and drinks from a choice of 14 bars and 12 food traders and a live performance by ‘Example’

Production:

Working with a creative team, I created and presented the winning production pitch to produce the 20th Anniversary of Sony Playstation. Following this, while working closely with Sony Playstation, I managed the overall budget and lead on production from venue sourcing through to final delivery of the live event. This also involved sourcing, briefing and working closely with the venue, set production, print, talent, AV, catering, security, film, photography teams and also included creating all event management/logistical/h&s documentation. Finally I lead the event management team throughout the 3 x day installation, a 1 x evening live event and the 2 x day de-rig.

The Results:

Guests were surveyed two days after the event and scored the experience an average rating of 4.8 out of 5. Its popularity

Awards:

Success also led to the event being nominated for Creative Event of the Year by Event Magazine at the 2016 Event Awards.
